Christos Michail

Current position: Collaborating researcher at the Technological Educational Institution (TEI) of Athens, Department of Biomedical Engineering. Education-Qualifications: First degree in Medical Instruments Technology (Athens, Greece), Master degree and PhD in Medical Physics. Awards: He was awarded with a scholarship from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) for Academic Years 2007-2010 on the 'Technology of Telecommunications in Medicine' specialty after succeeding in the exams of the Foundation. Areas of research: Construction and evaluation (both experimental and theoretical in terms of absolute efficiency, MTF, NNPS, DQE & IC) of scintillating screens for use in digital imaging systems, image quality evaluation in PET & SPECT systems, Monte Carlo methods, Dual Energy imaging. Funded research projects: 13 Greek projects as a researcher and 2 program approved at the first stage of evaluation. He has also participated as a reviewer for scientific journals (European Radiology, Measurement, the Journal of Engineering Research, Physica Medica, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, Biomed Research International, Radiation Measurements, Scinte 2015, British Journal of Medicine and Medical Research & NIMA) and proposal reviewer. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal Engineering, technology and Applied Science Research (ETASR) and Guest Editor of the special issue (2015) 637 in J. Phys.: Conf. Ser.

Scientific Publications: He has published 75 Peer-reviewed papers. Furthermore 63 proceedings in international scientific conferences with referees, 59 abstracts, 8 book chapters, 16 proceedings in National scientific congresses and 9 invited lectures. The number of citations given in his papers, after relatively short time of publication, is 189 (excluding self-citations) and 490 in total.
